1. What Scorply is
Scorply is a self-help document preparation tool. It takes information you provide and produces a completed IRS Form 2553, related statements, and filing instructions. It is software, not a service performed by a professional on your behalf.
We are not a law firm or an accounting firm, and nothing on this site is tax, legal, or accounting advice. Using Scorply creates no attorney-client, accountant-client, or fiduciary relationship. See our disclaimer for detail.
2. Your responsibilities
You agree that:
- The information you enter is accurate and complete, and you have authority to make the election for the entity concerned.
- You will review every document before signing and filing it, and you remain solely responsible for what you file.
- You will sign the form and obtain the required consent signatures yourself. We cannot sign on your behalf, and neither can any preparer.
- You will not use Scorply to make a filing containing statements you know to be untrue. Form 2553 and the relief statements are signed under penalties of perjury.
3. Payment
The Filing Packet is $49and the Late Filing & Complete package is $79, each a single payment in US dollars. Payment is processed by Stripe. Prices may change, but the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
IRS Form 2553 is available free from irs.gov. Your payment is for guided preparation, review and filing instructions, not for the form itself.
4. Refunds
See our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. No guarantee of outcome
We do not guarantee that the IRS will accept your election, grant late relief, or act within any timeframe. Those decisions belong to the IRS. We do not guarantee any particular tax saving; the calculator produces estimates from the figures you supply.
6. Intellectual property
The site, its content, and its underlying software belong to Handler Labs LLC. The documents Scorply generates for you are yours to use for your own filing. You may not resell Scorply’s output, scrape the site, or use it to build a competing product.
7. Acceptable use
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, interfere with its operation, or use it in violation of any law. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Handler Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost tax savings, penalties, or interest, arising from your use of Scorply. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case those limitations apply only to the extent permitted.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Handler Labs LLC against claims arising from information you supplied that was inaccurate or that you were not authorized to provide.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We may discontinue the service, though we will honor packets already purchased.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer protection laws of your own state.
