What we never receive
Scorply generates your completed Form 2553 and its attachments entirely on your own device. That means the following never leave your browser and are never transmitted to, stored by, or visible to us:
- Shareholder Social Security numbers and taxpayer identification numbers
- Shareholder names and home addresses
- The completed Form 2553 itself, and any relief statements
- Your reasonable-cause narrative and other free-text answers
Tax identification numbers are held in memory only. They are deliberately excluded from the local autosave, which is why reloading the page clears them and you have to type them again. We consider that the right trade-off.
What we do receive
When you buy a packet, we receive and store the minimum needed to take payment and support you afterwards:
- Your business name, the state you operate in, and whether your election is late
- The plan you bought, the amount, and Stripe’s identifiers for the session and payment
- The email address you give Stripe at checkout
We do not receive your card details. Payment is processed by Stripe, and card data goes directly to them.
What is stored on your own device
Your in-progress answers are saved to your browser’s local storage so that closing the tab does not lose your work. That data stays on your device, is not synced anywhere, and you can clear it at any time with the “Start over” control in the wizard or by clearing site data in your browser.
We also store your theme preference (light, dark, or follow the system).
Cookies and analytics
Scorply sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site tracking. Any analytics we use is privacy-preserving and aggregate: it tells us which pages are read, not who read them.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of processors, each for a single purpose:
- Stripe — payment processing. They receive your payment details and email.
- Supabase — the database holding order records.
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep things
Order records are retained for seven years, which is the period we may need them for tax and accounting purposes. Because we never receive your filing data, there is nothing else of yours for us to retain.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@getscorply.com. If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in the CCPA as amended, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.
Security
Traffic is served over HTTPS with HSTS. Order data sits in Supabase with row level security enabled and no anonymous read access. The design principle throughout is that the most sensitive data — your Social Security number — is never collected in the first place, because data we do not hold cannot be breached.
Children
Scorply is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will also be emailed.
